The Myrmecological News Blog was launched on 24 May 2018. Over these six years, our team has undergone significant growth. We have published a total of 476 blog posts, consisting of 245 Author interviews, 123 (Re)Views, 74 Photoblog contributions, 20 News, 12 About us and 2 Kids contributions. This has only been made possible thanks to the assistance of our highly efficient editorial team, comprising of numerous researchers (ranging from undergraduate to emeritus professors).
We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to them all.

At Myrmecological News Blog, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. We believe that diversity in our blog posts, inclusion of underrepresented communities, and promoting equitable opportunities for members of the scientific community, are important for enriching our perspectives and driving the scientific discourse. Our commitment extends to actively seeking out voices from underrepresented communities and achieving gender parity in our coverage.

We would like to celebrate these years of the Myrmecological News Blog with a world map showing the places where contributions for our posts came from. While, our geographical sample is skewed towards Europe and North America, our aim is to redress this imbalance. By valuing and integrating contributions from across the globe, we endeavour to create content that is not only comprehensive and insightful but also representative of the breadth and depth of the global scientific community.
We hope to provide you with new fascinating and inspiring blog posts about myrmecology.
