My name is Roberta Gibson. I am an entomologist and also a writer/blogger. I have a BS in Forest Biology/Entomology from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and a Master’s degree in Entomology from Cornell University, where I studied under the late Dr. William Brown, Jr. Currently I live in Arizona, which has a fantastic diversity of ant species, ranging from army ants to Veromessor sp.

My favorite ants to study are carpenter ants in the genus Camponotus. I’m interested in how colonies change as they develop to maturity, as well as more generally in behavioral ecology and aging.

When I’m not watching or writing about ants, I enjoy photography, hiking, and gardening. You can find out more at my blog, Wild About Ants, http://blog.wildaboutants.com/  by following my ant page on facebook  https://www.facebook.com/WildAboutAnts or on Twitter https://twitter.com/ScienceAntics
