We are Birgit Schlick-Steiner and Florian Steiner and have been doing ant research since 1997 and editing the journal Myrmecological News since 2003. In 2018, we conceived the idea of a public-outreach platform to accompany the journal β the birth of Myrmecological News Blog. Currently, we are coordinating the blog together with Patrick Krapf and Salvatore Brunetti. Our research topics are reflected by the activities of the Molecular Ecology Group at Innsbruck University (https://molecular-ecology.at/).
Myrmecological News Blog is an international, non-profit, independent ant blog devoted to myrmecology and related fields.
It offers various contributions on all fields of ant research, in a lively mix of short posts on journal articles, (flash) interviews with researchers, photoblog contributions, views and reviews, book reviews, etc.
