Purbayan Ghosh
Hey, I am Purbayan. Ever since I was a kid, I have been fascinated by the tiny world of ants-observing their long trails, seeing them carrying brood and food over long distances.
This curiosity turned into a real exploration during my undergraduate studies when I got to work with Diacamma indicum and explore their house hunting strategy. Since then, I am hooked on how ant colonies tackle and solve complex situations and adapt their behaviors under novel environmental conditions.
Right now, for my PhD studies, I am diving deeper into how behavior and physiology come together during nest site selection in the rock crevice nesting ant Temnothorax rugatulus in the lab of Prof. Stephen Pratt.
If not looking at ants, I enjoy travelling to new places, hiking, playing sports or hunting down the best food spots in the town.
